The new Three Stooges film will be directed by the Farrelly Brothers and is set for release next year. Reportedly, Jimmy Markum will be starring as Larry, Lloyd Christmas will be featured as Curly, and in the most obvious casting since Captain Picard as Professor X, Che Guevara has been tapped to play Stooge leader, Moe.

In related news, I'm planning to cast Zac Efron as the star of my next film: the biopic, "I Am Your Father: The Life Story of James Earl Jones."

Hitler on 'The Watchmen' [Oh Noze!]

This could possibly be the best thing I see all day if The Watchmen turns out to be as much of a dud as people are saying (even though I doubt them and their ability to critique graphic novels turned into films). Oh and if you have read the book, watch out for movie spoilers.

Final Proof that Street Fighter Movie Will Suck

Variety reported today that the new movie, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li will not be screened by critics. In other words, yes, it really is that bad. Variety points out that about 95% of movies that don't get screened by critics get horrible reviews, and most of them are truly bad films. If the poor trailer and poor fighting weren't enough evidence of a poorly made film, this should be the cherry on top. I know one person that will still watch for Kristin Kreuk.

My advise: Skip the movie, play the game, go buy Street Fighter IV! [via Kotaku]

Why, Why, Why?

Eden Lake (2008)

This movie is terrifying. Not because it's overly gory or have horrific creatures. In fact there weren't even any "it's behind you" or "jump out and scare you" moments. It so horrific because it hits close to home. You don't have the safety of telling yourself, "this can only happen in the movies."

A young couple goes on a weekend camping vacation only to encounter a group of hoodlum kids. I won't spoil the movie, but let me tell you there were more than a few times I asked myself when will this movie be over; not because it was getting boring, but because I was getting depressed. The fact is, the world is not a safe place. Bad things happen to good people - sometimes for no explainable reason.

This is what a great horror movie does, it invokes a range of emotions in the viewers. I was thrilled. I was angry. I was sad. I was depressed. There are so many movies you watch and forget, but this one will not be forgotten. It holds its own as a great horror masterpiece.

The French Know Their Horror

À l'intérieur (2007)

À l'intérieur or Inside is one of the best horror films I've seen lately. If you are a fan of gore, there is plenty of it; if you like psychological horror, you will be scared shit-less. Foreign horror films are leaps and bounds ahead of whatever hollywood pumps out. I think it's the willingness of foreign filmmakers to push what is acceptable. Definitely check this film out, you will not be disappointed.
