PITTSBURGH (AP) -- The Pennsylvania attorney general says a legislative staffer wanted to dress up in a panda costume and have sex with a 15-year-old boy.

Attorney General Tom Corbett says 40-year-old Alan David Berlin, of Carlisle, was charged Thursday with attempted sexual exploitation of children and related crimes.

A Corbett spokesman says the boy's parents alerted authorities after finding graphic messages on his computer. He says agents found wolf- and cat-type costumes in Berlin's home.

A spokesman for Sen. Jane Orie says Berlin has been suspended. Berlin worked in the Senate about a decade, the past several years with the Allegheny County Republican.

Berlin is in the Dauphin County jail. Officials didn't know if he had an attorney.

Man Cleared of Rape Charges Thanks to Cellphone Footage

Gary Taylor, a 41-year-old businessman, was acquitted of rape charges after cellphone footage of the accuser actively taking part in the said sex act was shown off in court. According to the prosecution, Taylor had arrived at the house of a 27-year-old woman with cocaine and a bottle of wine and after getting the woman drunk, he proceeded to rape her. There were two charges of oral penetration.

The judge warned: 'You are going to see a clip which from what I have been told you may find extremely distasteful. To avoid making it a peep show, I have ordered the public gallery to be cleared.'

After the footage was screened, Miss Holt said to the alleged victim: 'You and Mr Taylor were very familiar with each other and comfortable in each other's presence.'

The woman said: 'I don't think I was happily talking to him.'

She also denied 'actively' performing a sex act on Mr Taylor.

The prosecution offered no evidence following advice from the judge.

Mr Taylor, who runs a multimedia company, was cleared of four charges of rape and walked free from court.

The woman (accuser) says she had never seen that footage.
