This was the scene at the start of Microsoft's presentation at CES. After a 5 minute blackout, all the computers restarted in recovery mode. As if that wasn't a downer, Steve Ballmer didn't show off the touchscreen notebook, aka the courier. Instead he showed off a HP touchscreen running Windows 7. Meh. [Gizmodo]

Steve Ballmer Has Stopped Laughing at the iPhone

Lets step back to 2007 when Apple introduced the iPhone. Here's Steve Ballmer's reaction:
Now back to the present. Ballmer now agrees that the iPhone and Blackberry have taken over the mobile phone market. He said that we shouldn't expect any sort of Zune Phone either. This coming of course shortly announcements that Microsoft would cut back work on the Zune. Ballmer also said that the demand for portable media players is on the decline and it will eventually be replaced by do-it-all gadgets liek the iPhone and iPod Touch. [AppleInsider]
