New Luke Wilson Ads for AT&T Attack Verizon

No specific mention of Apple or the iPhone, but you can see the Droid in one of the ads.

Apple Decides to Get in the Middle of AT&T/Verizon Dispute

Apple iPhone Ad - What Time's The Movie? from Arik Hesseldahl on Vimeo.

Apple is releasing these two ads as a response to the disputes between Verizon and AT&T. Instead of worrying about who has a better network, Apple sticks to the iPhone as being the key reason to be on the AT&T network. Remember, no phone on the Verizon network allows you to multi-task like the iPhone.

Droid Coming to Verizon on November 6

All set to be the best phone on Verizon's network, the Motorolla Droid comes out on November 6th. Packed with Google's Android OS, a pop out (and touchscreen) keyboard, 5 MP camera with flash, and free Google Navigation with voice search, Droid will be the best shot Verizon (and Motorolla) has to compete with the iPhone 3GS (regardless of if there is a map for that or not).

Aesthetically, it doesn't look all that pretty, but it's decent when collapsed. The OS itself is fast, just as fast as the iPhone 3GS. The screen is crisper, better than the iPhone.

While there aren't as many crazy apps for Android as there are for the iPhone, Google is on the rise with it's mobile os. It is still chasing after the iPhone, but it's a lot closer than Blackberry.

Anyone with Verizon that wants a great phone (because Verizon has NONE) should go after the Motorolla Droid.

Verizon Quick to Point Out AT&T's Flawed Service

Mocking the AT&T networks and the Apple iPhone, Verizon came out with a "there's a map for that" ad by Verizon that shows off Verizon's 3G network vs. the AT&T network that sucks. Too bad Verizon doesn't have a iPhone for me. Good thing they are getting Android phones in a couple of weeks, because the rest of their phones can shove that map up their sd card slots.

Verizon + Apple = Touchscreen Netbook? iTablet?

iTablet Rumors blew up in the past few days. AppleInsider has the most updated scoop.
  • 10″, 3G networked device similar to “a jumbo iPod touch”
  • Guided by Steve Jobs from hospital, home, and work
  • Culmination of at least 6 previous prototypes Jobs vetoed
  • Will launch in first quarter of 2010
  • Verizon may be the carrier
  • Delays caused by lack of satisfaction over Intel Atom power consumption
  • Hence Apple bought PA Semi to build in-house, custom chipset based on ARM

Apple to Release iPhone Lite & Media Pad on Verizon?

Businessweek has the latest Apple rumor suggesting that the company will release a new iPhone Lite and a "Media Pad" media player on the Verizon Network. These will be brand new gadgets and available only for the Verizon Network. Of course this is all rumor, but if a iPhone was to make it's way to the best network in the North East, it would be a major reason for cell phone users to make their way to Verizon. AT&T's customer count blew up thanks to the iPhone and without that exclusivity, they could fall further away from Verizon (nationwide). The 7" inch media pad rumor is also interesting in that it could very well be the first "netbook" called by a different name and distributed by Apple. Very exciting news all around.

If You Thought the Verizon Guy and the Network Aren't Real Like Unicorns or Something...

Don't doubt the Verizon network! (Or the "Can you hear me now?" guy)

I'm surprised the entire network didn't start cracking up when the guy randomly falls down. [Boy Genius]
