The King's Got Swine Flu

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Cavaliers are waiting to get back swine flu test results on superstar LeBron James who returned to practice Thursday after taking two days off because of a virus.

James is one of a half dozen Cavalier players who are suffering from flu-like symptoms. Darnell Jackson and Coby Karl have also been tested for H1N1, or swine flu, which is a strain of Influenza A.

James, Jackson and Karl have all tested positive for Influenza A. Andre Barrett and J.J. Hickson are also feeling ill and will not make the team's next road trip to Texas.

The Cavaliers next National Basketball Association game is Friday in San Antonio and James plans on travelling with the team. They also play in Dallas on Saturday.

James missed Wednesday's pre-season 109-104 loss to the Washington Wizards after being told to stay home and rest up. [AFP]

Nike Air Max LeBron VII

New season, new shoes. The Nike Air Max LeBron VII will be available on October 24th for $160. They look so much better than the previous LeBrons.

Here's some jargon to convince you that these shoes are advanced by technology:

It features a new custom Max 360 Air sole with 80 percent more air than the previous full-length unit, strategically contoured with a thinner forefoot and deeper heel to put the cushioning where it's needed most. For even more comfort and stability, it features Nike Flywire tensile fiber technology, a seamless integrated bootie, various visual hints to LeBron all over, and a full-grain leather upper with patent leather detailing throughout.

Shaq Introduced as a Cavalier

Shaq was introduced today as a official member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He admitted that when he initially got the call from Cleveland GM Danny Ferry, that he didn't know who he was (even though they played against each other) and had to Google him.

Shaq brought along the above picture to show the media how he found out who Danny Ferry was.

So now that he's in Cleveland, what are his plans?

"I'm now in the security business. I'm now here to protect the King." And the "King" talk didn't stop there, as O'Neal told the assembled press that his new motto while in Cleveland is "to win a ring for the King."

The Best Team in the NBA

LeBron James sat out of the final regular season game for some well deserved rest. But the Cleveland Cavs aren't just about LeBron James, they are a team damnit! And when one player is out, his teammates step up. Take Anderson Varejao for example:

That's right TEAM! This is exactly why the Cavs are going to be 2009 NBA Champions. They play, joke and have fun as a team. LeBron is the star and they (and we) all know it. But LeBron knows that without his boys to back him up (even jokingly), he'll never that championship ring.
