Candace Parker (no, she isn't hiding a basketball under there) is on the cover of ESPN The Magazine. In the article, she talks about how she was just as surprised as everyone about the pregnancy.
"I was surprised," Parker says of the pregnancy. "But everything happens for a reason. It will be exciting to have my child share my career and to remember what I was like when I was young." She falls quiet for a few long seconds. "I'm not worried about it," she says finally. "I have nieces and nephews. Of course, Shel and I joke that we can't send this one home."
Besides the fact that this wasn't a planned pregnancy (more of a oops!), she had to give up a million bucks that she was going to receive to play in Russia. In December, she and husband Sheldon Williams eloped in Reno, NV. A month later she announced that she was pregnant.
This could very well mean that she will miss the upcoming WNBA season, she is due this spring. Hey, even Jordan took off a couple of years (twice). [NBA Fanhouse]
