If the NCAA has taught you anything this year, its that anything can happen. How many number one teams have we seen fall after only holding the position for less than two weeks???
However, its not just the number ones who are rolling over. There have been more upsets in the conference tournaments this year than any other year that I can remember. When is the last time that seven out of the top ten teams lost in their conference tournaments before reaching the championship? Its possible that the eighth team will be out tonight if Syracuse manages to pull off another upset against Louisville.
Just look at the Pac-10. USC, an obvious powerhouse on the grid-iron, however the no. 6 seed not only upset CAL, but they convincingly took care of UCLA, and then shocked ASU to punch their ticket to the big dance. Why is this a big deal??? Well, it means that there will be five teams to represent the Pac-10 in this year's tournament, and it eliminates Arizona's chance for a bid, ending their streak of 24 consecutive tournament appearances.
USC came back from 15 down to beat ASU, 66-63. Take a look at the crazy finish between the two teams.
