Kiss K-ROCK Goodbye

CBS Radio is eliminating New York's rock station, 92.3 K-ROCK. As of 5 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, the station will be 92.3 NOW and will feature contemporary top hits. NOW's website is currently featuring a countdown clock.

“For the first time in nearly 30 years, New York now has a choice for hit music,” said Dom Theodore, Vice President of Contemporary Hit Radio Programming, CBS RADIO. “With 92.3 NOW FM we’re breaking the mold of the traditional radio station and creating a pure multi-media companion for today’s music fans.” Theodore, who has launched several Top 40 stations across the country, will direct the programming for 92.3 NOW FM.

New York rock fans will shed a tear for sure as their station will be turned into a Z100 competitor. K-Rock has been a rock station since 1976. [CBS RADIO]
