No, You Will Not Need an Adapter to Plug in Your Car When Crossing Borders

GM put forth the idea that electric cars of the future should have a standard universal plug that recharges the car. A few hours later, other major car companies agreed. Volkswagen, BMW, Ford, General Motors, Fiat, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Eon, Vattenfall, EDF, Npower, Endesa and Enel agreed to use the same 400-volt plug to charge their cars. This would mean that you can take your electric car anywhere in the world and be able to charge it without the use of those crappy adapters or travel kits. Good to see there is at least some positive news coming out of the automotive industry these days. [Engadget]
