Microsoft's Project Natal

At E3 today, Microsoft unveiled the new Project Natal. It basically eliminates (or tries to) the need for the controller. Hence, you are your character and the character moves just as you move. Check out the video click for it in action. The video looks amazing. But we'll have to wait to see how it works in real life to determine if it really is that great.

I like the fact that you can use your own stuff in the video game, but if you can use your own stuff, why not just go skateboarding instead of skateboarding in a video game? Also, I see a lot of furniture being broken with this thing. Not just TVs like with the Wii controller.

I also liked the Chuck Norris trick question.

The project was named Natal for a city in Brazil where the lead developer is from.

"Alex Kipman, who incubated the project and is from Brazil, chose Natal, a city along the northeastern coast of Brazil, as a tribute to his country. In addition, he knew that Natal also means "to be born" in Latin. Given the new audiences "Project Natal" will bring to Xbox 360, this felt right." [Kotaku]
