Finally the (second) most wanted missing feature on the iPhone will be available on Friday, December 12th. Yep, copy and paste! And the best part...wait for it....its legal, in fact you won't even need the app store to make it happen. Of course there is a downside. As of now, it's only for mail and Safari. And second its not as easy as copy and paste, it takes a couple more steps. But for a feature that still isn't in the latest 2.2 firmware, I don't think anyone cares. Pastebud is the service that makes it all possible. Here's a demo on how it works.
Basically, pastebud turns the page you are viewing into a "copy and paste-able" page. Then you can highlight and copy whatever you want. Then you got two options: 1) Paste into an email or 2) Paste into any open field in Safari (i.e. Google or your blog). Head over to pastebud on Friday to try it out (the site is locked until then).
