From Spud to Dwight, NATE-THE-GREAT is back

If Nate Robinson wasn’t listed as 5’9” (or really be 5’7¾“), would he have honestly won slam dunk contest? Sure, he has some incredible talent, but is he the best we’ve ever seen?

Probably not, but Krypto-NATE did his thing this past Saturday by topping it off with a high-jump over the near 7’ Dwight Howard. It wasn’t even that his dunks were that spectacular; it was the fact that he was able to beat Howard at his own game. The contest ended up being like more of an entertainment show than an actual slam dunk contest.

Yeah, we could’ve seen better; we should’ve seen better; maybe the competition should’ve been better, but at least the storyline was entertaining.

And what about Rudy Fernandez. He got cheated!! He had the two best first round dunks and he only managed a meager score of 84?? Are you kidding me?! His second dunk was crazy!!! It was never tried, never done, never seen before. Fernandez swooped in from behind the right-side of the glass to swoop in and finish on the left-side. When he was going through his first attempts, I thinking that there is no way, but when he put it away, I was up and out of seat!!! I didn't think the European had it in him, to be honest...no offense! But if the dunk contest was truly based on the originality and finesse of the dunks, Rudy should've been in the finals, no question about it.
